Cookie Policy
Last updated: 24 April 2026
This policy explains what cookies Permito sets on your device, why we use them and how you can control them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences and actions over time, and to distinguish you from other visitors. Cookies can be session-based (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (remaining until they expire or are deleted).
2. How we use cookies
Permito uses cookies strictly for the following purposes: (a) to keep you authenticated between page loads so you do not need to log in repeatedly; (b) to store your session state, including form progress and workflow position; and (c) to anonymously measure how features are used so we can improve the platform. We do not use advertising, tracking or third-party marketing cookies.
3. Types of cookies we set
Essential cookies: These are set when you log in and are required for the platform to function. They include your session token and CSRF protection token. These cannot be disabled without breaking the service.
Analytical cookies: With your consent, we set anonymised usage cookies that record which features are used, how long sessions last and where errors occur. These are never linked to identifiable individuals and are processed entirely within our own infrastructure.
4. Third-party cookies
We do not embed third-party advertising networks, social media pixels or cross-site tracking scripts in the Permito application. If we embed a third-party video (e.g. in the Resources section), that provider may set their own cookies according to their privacy policy. You will be informed before any such content loads.
5. Cookie duration
Session authentication cookies expire after 24 hours of inactivity or when you explicitly log out, whichever comes first. If you select "Remember me" during login, the session may persist for up to 30 days on trusted devices. Analytical cookies expire after 12 months. All cookie expiries are aligned with the minimum necessary to deliver the relevant function.
6. Managing your preferences
You can control cookies through the consent banner displayed on your first visit, which can be recalled from the cookie icon in the footer at any time. Selecting "Essential only" disables all analytical cookies. You may also delete or block cookies at browser level — please refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions. Note that disabling essential cookies will log you out and prevent you from using authenticated features.
7. Consent and withdrawal
When you first visit Permito, we display a cookie consent banner. By selecting "Accept all" you consent to both essential and analytical cookies. You may withdraw consent for analytical cookies at any time by clicking "Essential only" in the cookie banner. Changes take effect immediately and persist until you change your preference again or clear your browser data.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use. Material changes will be communicated via the in-app notification system and, where required, will prompt you to re-confirm consent. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
9. Contact
