Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 April 2026

Please read these terms carefully before using the Permito platform. By creating an account you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Permito platform you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using Permito on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have full authority to bind that organisation to these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

2. Platform use and purpose

Permito is a permit-to-work management and safety compliance tool designed for use by qualified personnel in industrial, oil and gas, and energy environments. The platform is intended to support — not replace — your organisation's safety management system (SMS). Permito does not substitute for the professional judgment of competent, trained safety personnel.

3. Account responsibilities

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must immediately notify us at security@permito.ng of any suspected or actual unauthorised access to your account. Each account is licensed to a single named individual. Sharing login credentials is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account suspension without notice.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: submit false, fraudulent or fabricated permit data; circumvent or bypass approval workflows; access another user's account or data without their authorisation; use the platform to store malicious code or conduct cyber attacks; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the platform; or use automated scraping tools against the API. Violation may result in immediate account termination and legal action.

5. Data ownership and portability

You retain full ownership of all permit data, records, documents and attachments you create on the platform. Permito holds a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and display this data solely to provide the service. You may export all your data at any time from the platform settings in standard formats. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your operational data.

6. AI features and recommendations

Permito includes AI-powered features such as routing recommendations, pre-submission checks and risk assessments. These features are advisory in nature and are based on pattern analysis, not professional safety engineering opinion. All AI outputs must be reviewed and verified by competent personnel before acting on them. Permito is not liable for decisions made based solely on AI recommendations.

7. Service availability and SLA

We target 99.8% monthly platform uptime, excluding planned maintenance windows. Planned maintenance is announced at least 48 hours in advance via email and the in-app notification centre. We publish a real-time status page at status.permito.ng. In the event of downtime exceeding our SLA threshold, we will apply service credits to your account in accordance with the support tier in your subscription agreement.

8. Payment and billing

Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. We will provide 30 days notice of any price changes. Failure to pay may result in service suspension. Enterprise customers are subject to the payment terms specified in their Master Service Agreement.

9. Limitation of liability

Permito provides software tooling to assist safety management workflows. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Permito is not liable for: any on-site incident, injury or fatality; decisions made based on platform data; failure to follow physical safety procedures; indirect, consequential or punitive damages; or losses exceeding the fees paid in the three months preceding the claim. The platform is an aid — not a substitute — for competent safety management.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the subscription with 30 days written notice. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these terms, fail to pay, or if required by law. Upon termination, you will have 90 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted. Data deletion following termination will be carried out in accordance with our data retention policy and applicable law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email and in-app notification at least 30 days before the effective date. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not accept the updated terms, you may terminate your account without penalty before the effective date.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
